The "laddu row" case has been filed in the Supreme Court to investigate allegations that animal fat was used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus, sparking controversy and impacting devotees' faith. Several Public Interest Litigations (PILs) were filed, including one by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy, and another by Surjit Singh Yadav, the president of the Hindu Sena, and Y.V. Subba Reddy, seeking a court-monitored investigation. 

 

Reasons for the case

• Religious concerns: The allegations of animal fat being used in the sacred prasadam (offering) hurt the religious sentiments of devotees.
• Freedom of religion: Petitioners argued that the use of non-vegetarian ingredients violated the fundamental right of devotees to freedom of religion.
• Call for accountability: The petitions aimed to ensure transparency and accountability in the preparation of the iconic laddus. 

 

Who filed the case

• Subramanian Swamy: A BJP leader who filed a PIL seeking a court-monitored investigation and a detailed forensic report on the ghee used.
• Surjit Singh Yadav: The president of the Hindu Sena, who filed a PIL requesting a Special Investigation Team (SIT) probe into the allegations.
• Y.V. Subba Reddy: A former Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) Chairman and Member of Rajya Sabha who also moved the Supreme Court seeking an independent probe.

@Naaperushiva Ayodhya ki pampina laddoos ki ghee was sponsored by My Rameshwar Rao…and cost of laddos and ghee procurement was completely done by Rameshwar Rao and he was TTD member back then…

First of all, the sample NDDB tested was from rejected tankers…that means the ghee from those tankers was never used.

Then where is the problem ? 

Looks like TDP trying to gain political mileage out of Animal Fat by planting stories unrelated to Animal Fat but eventually its gonna fall apart.
