How it Works (Net Metering):

Generate & Consume: Your solar panels generate electricity; some powers your home, some goes to the grid.

Energy Credits: Excess power exported to the grid earns you credits (kWh).

Bill Offset: These credits reduce your bill. If you generate more than you use, you build up credits.

Billing Cycle: Bills often settle monthly or quarterly. If credits exceed consumption, you get a credit balance or refund (depending on rules).  "

 

Plenty of people with solar get negative bills in Hyderabad.

We were told that every 3 or 6 months the negative amount would be cleared by sending that money to bank account.

Now they changed it to sending a letter or an online request to issue a refund.

(iv) The unadjusted credited units will be settled twice in a year (June & December) with the average cost of power purchase as decided by TSERC for that year. The amount will be adjusted in the next month electricity bill or deposited in the bank account of the Eligible Consumer furnished at the time of filing of the application."

I have got multiple installations done. They are individual houses

Call any local installer with good reviews. He will come to your house and explain in detail.

That was not my question. Are you exporting to the grid and have you received any incentive from the government yet? How frequently did you get them?
