Indian government is pushing nano urea. Two issues: yield is still low probably still needs optimization. Farmers acceptability is low

Ambani family will go bankrupt if its manufactured inside India.

Most of the petro-products used in India are from imported petroleum by Reliance, processing by Reliance, re-produced by Reliance, marketed by Reliance and sold by Reliance

UREA import was impacted by tthree things.

  • UKRAINE war stopped potash imports from Ukraine.
  • China also banned UREA and potash sales to India for last 3 years. they just lifted ban after US sanctions on China as it is facing heavy pressure domestically for jobs and cash flow.
  • Gas prices went way up (thanks to reliance) that domestic firms like Nagarjuna Urea also stopped plants running to produce UREA.

It used to be even worse Bro.

Government used to pay that money to Fertilizer Companies who inturn have to provide Urea to Farmers..

So Fertilizer companies used to get rich while providing Farmers low quality Urea or playing shortage of urea.
