It doesn't work that way. Many countrie already tried and failed. Its called Socialism.

People said the same thing when Govt was investing on ISRO. ISRO is now  is considered highly profitable, not necessarily in traditional government agency terms, but through massive returns on investment (around 2.5x-2.54x), generating significant revenue from launching foreign satellites via its commercial arms like NSIL, boosting India's GDP, creating jobs, and making space accessible at low costs, turning it into a global economic player.

Satues are also important.....as they have a profound cultural and social impact, serving as symbols of identity, pride, and collective memory. They reflect the values, beliefs, and aspirations of a society, celebrating its heroes and commemorating its shared history. They also lead to more people getting into military and increases pride towards the nation. Also gets in tourism revenue.
