More than 10 families in my circle have left and almost all of them are very happy.

Majority of them are US citizens. They all love India.

Common regret is that they should have done it sooner.

Funny incident is that couple of them came to US for a visit and they were complaining as to why US is so backward and Cheap and customer service sucks 😄

Had to remind them that they were here before 😂

Anna, what you are saying is anecdotal example among just your circle.

But reality is in numbers. If India is so good then numbers will reverse on its own.

But for now the numbers show ppl are ready to jump from India given a chance though it will continue to get better as India also becomes a middle income country.

Till the below numbers adjust, more ppl will be leaving india. Of course rich ppl above the per capita will stay in India. Its just human nature.

Indicator (2025 Projections)
United States India Ratio (US vs. India)
Nominal GDP per Capita ~$89,678 ~$2,937 30.5 : 1
GDP per Capita (PPP) ~$89,678 ~$12,100 7.4 : 1
Projected GDP Growth Rate 2.8% 6.6%

As I said....join the expat groups and you will be surprised by the amount of activity.

It will help in getting the right picture. By the time it attracts mainstream media, might be too late

Thats the problem. By staying here, our kids will have to live in that situation and have zero connection with India

Its hopeless uncle, india is mostly slum with pockets of rich neighnorhoods. Even they dont have qualty of life just that they live in better houses. Bayatiki vasthe same polluted air, adulterated food, toxic water.

Over 2 lakh Indians giving up citizenship each year. What's behind the exodus?

The Ministry of External Affairs told the Parliament that over nine lakh Indians have given up their citizenship in the last 5 years, with over 2 lakh per year since 2022. Why are Indians renouncing citizenship in record numbers?

Birth rate issue will hit india harder in couple of decades, indias growth is mostly tied to it rather than inoovation or productivity.

For US, debt is their major issue, population they can manage with immigration or robots. Mostly ssn will go bankrupt in a decade and they cant take any more debt, world isnt big enough to buy it (4t a year at current rate)

The stats you mentioned are irrelevant to our conversation.

Take a second look at what you have posted.

This is the reason as to why data is extremely misleading and the main reason is our bias looking for anything that tries to confirm it.

I dont understand what you are trying to say.

If you mean citizens of high income countries [US/Can/Aus/UK/NZ Citizens of Indian Origin] then the number is so low that its not even registering in immigration numbers.

If you mean Citizens of India moving out then you have emigration statistics.

And if you are saying more citizens of india are coming back than moving out then its just your expat group example. The fact is more indian citizens are moving out than indian citizens coming back.

Post some verifiable facts instead of saying my whatsapp group or my expat group.

As I said, as India becomes a middle income country the outbound flow will definitely reduce.

Thats why it is famously called as WhatsApp University of BJP.

The percentage increase of people leaving India is less than percentage increase of people coming back to India.

Percentages matter first, numbers come later.
