Hello Friends, I would like to tell you about

an incident which occurred to me in Minneapolis/ Saint Paul last night.I was picked up by ICE and detained for more than 6 hours in their detention center. They picked me up from the parking lot of Walmart.

They were very brutal and just told me that I was out of status before making arrest. I am on H1B visa and my status had ended on 8th. But my extension is also under processing. They just told me that I am out of status and an illegal now.

Luckily, a very kind officer looked at my case and made efforts to release me soon. I was lucky to get out within just 6 hours. Otherwise, it might have taken days or months even to be on detention before a judge look at my case.

During arrest, I told the officers that I can show them all the extension papers in my phone but they were just brutal and didn't listened. I don't think that there is any point in carrying documents as well. If for any reason you are flagged in their system, they will arrest and take you to detention center.
