Telangana was always dominated by Reddys and velamas traditionally . Reddys in Hyd , Rangareddy , mahbubnagar , nalgonda , medak , Warangal , nizamabad . Velamas in Warangal , Karimnagar and some parts of Mahbubnagar . 14 samsthanams in Telangana before 1947 are of Reddys , specially motati and pakanati subcastes . 2 were of Velamas and 1 of Brahmins . It is the outside Andhra forces controlling the erstwhile state that led to TG elites desiring to gain power .

Even city names are named after reddy kings like Sangareddy and Kamareddy .
