Thousands gathered in Kargil, Ladakh, with women turning out in large numbers at a rally expressing solidarity with Iran. The visible participation of women stood in sharp contrast to events inside Iran, where women have been at the forefront of protests against Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the government, even as demonstrators in Kargil voiced support for Iran’s leadership.
