I’m posting this on behalf of a close friend who has 14+ years of real-time experience in Cloud / DevOps technologies.

He was working on a C2C contract, but unfortunately his project ended in September 2025. Since then, he has been actively searching for new roles. He is currently in his 4th year of H-1B, and his PERM has been approved. The plan is to file I-140 in premium processing, and his employer has agreed not to revoke the I-140 (they’re supporting him on that part).

However, the challenge is employment.

• He has been applying aggressively for C2C roles, and I also advised him to stay open to W2 opportunities, but not a single client interview has been scheduled so far.
• His current employer has said they can only keep him on payroll until the end of January, after which they plan to revoke his H-1B if no project comes through.
• The market right now feels extremely slow and unpredictable, especially for C2C roles.

On the personal side:

• He recently moved to the U.S. mainly for his children’s education.
• He has two young kids (6 years and 3 years old).
• Back in India, both he and his wife were working for the same company and earning well.
• He left that stability with big hopes for the U.S., and today he is in a situation where there is no income and a lot of uncertainty.

He is trying his best every single day, but things are not going in his favor, and the stress is taking a real toll on him and his family.

👉 Given this situation, what realistic options does he have right now?

• Any advice on H-1B transfer timing, W2 vs C2C strategy, or short-term safe paths would be really appreciated.
• Has anyone been in a similar situation recently and managed to recover?

Moved to US for childrens education aa?

Ikkada school education especially elementary aiyte bokka la untundi.

But other than that yes IT market is extremely tight and even GC/Citizens are also finding very hard to find jobs.
