Canadian dairy is controlled Supply management. Farms are allotted supply quotas and they need to stick to that. Any over production, the excess will be thrown down the drain. Ee situation oligopoly ni crate chesindhi (getting permit and meeting quotas is something not everyone can do) and Canadians kept paying for it.  Most of these are controlled by Quebec and some in Ontario. They won't allow American dairy to compete. Ala ranisthe prices crash avuthayi. Except for pre agreed quota, they won't allow American dairy tariff free.
