There are a very large number of jokes related to chicken crossing roads.  Some of them are so old they do not even resemble jokes anymore.  Probably the oldest is more of a silly philosophical observation:Why did the chicken cross the road?A>To get to the other side. In this case it is not really related to calling someone 'cowardly' (chicken).  It is just meant as a reference to the old joke. Certainly you'd have to be pretty brave, and a little bit insane, to do what the camera-man did there.  sHa_high5ing
