Year after year we hear astrologers make predictions for the year ahead only to realise by the end of it they’ve been way off the mark in some cases, accurate in predictable cases and clueless in some. So this year, Deccan Chronicle decided to do the crystal gazing itself. After all, we did say in 2009 Kiran Kumar Reddy and Saina Nehwal will be superstars in 2010!
Here goes the random predictions, even if we get 6/10, it’s remarkable :).
Jagan Mohan Reddy will start his own party, continue to demand attention from the Congress high command but before elections in 2014, he will be re-inducted into the Congress Party.
Not Lokesh Naidu, but NTR Jr will take over from Chandrababu Naidu as leader of TDP in the future. Much to his dislike, Naidu will realise he’s the only one who is able to draw crowds. Another sonrise will be KCR’s son KTR.
Actor Charan will not get married this year; Gunta Jwala and Azharuddin will remain friends. No marriage.
India will qualify for the semi finals in the World Cup, winning the cup seems difficult. Dhoni’s captaincy will come under scrutiny.
Winters in Hyderabad will get colder, may drop to 3 degrees in 2011.
No threat to CM Kiran Kumar’s seat till elections are held.
KVP Ramachandra Rao’s days of glory will end. He’s trying for PCC post, but Congress high command will not respond.
Actress Anushka’s no 1 slot in Tollywood will be usurped by Illeana who will command a price of Rs 1.5 crore!
Stem cell technology will enable creation of veins in laboratory, making heart surgeries easier. At present veins are taken from the leg for heart bypass surgeries. The
technology will help in growing veins from stem cells in a
laboratory. All one has to do is to order veins 15 days to 25 days in advance.

Hyderabad has been the fifth largest city in India for almost a century. But soon Bengaluru will occupy the fifth position, pushing Hyderabad to the sixth.
