Guest Bharatheeyudu Posted January 4, 2011 Report Posted January 4, 2011 People who think of girls who have been through abuse, sexual assault, etc, as nothing but "damaged goods" are sick and abusive themselves, in my opinion. It hurts to be told that you are worth less for having something like this happen to you that you had no control over. In some ways it is just as damaging as the assaults themselves.As for me, the boyfriend and likely future husband is amazed at how well I've pulled through after what happened, and that I've not only gotten my life back together but am actually doing really well in it, despite the people who worked against me in this, and despite the occasional flashback or brief periods of severe depression over it. I have PTSD but I have it mostly under control, and believe it or not the boyfriend thinks of me as a stronger person because of how I've handled myself, and that I don't take the issues from my past out on others.
