It was a Wednesday gone horribly wrong for movie buffs at Talkie Town multiplex, Miyapur. While watching the film No One Killed Jessica, unsuspecting viewers were shocked when a frenzied mob of Balakrishna fans stormed into the auditorium.

As they yelled pro-Balakrishna slogans, it became clear they were enraged because their screening of Param Veer Chakra in the adjacent theatre had been interrupted by a sound problem. Impatient, they decided to evict the audience in the next theatre in order to watch their film there. During the intermission for No One Killed Jessica the motley crew roughed up a 100 odd viewers and verbally molested young girls who were also forced to leave.

To add insult to injury, the multiplex management failed disgracefully at handling the situation. Giving in to the vandals they shunted the innocent victims to the faulty theatre offering them a re-screening or a refund.

Vamsi, a student of HCU, who was there said, “They first barged in and started yelling Balakrishna slogans at the top of their voices. After 15 minutes, the entire crowd started forcing us out, intimidating us. They went berserk, started roughing us up and were lecherous with the girls as they walked towards the door. None of the management turned up when all this was happening. The frenzied fans told us that our movie was shifted to the next screen. We demanded to meet the manager but one lone guy who was talking to us kept saying that the manager is “not taking my calls.” The ladies present later questioned the management about what measures they had in place to protect women.”
