Location: Los Angeles, CA


Our customer Develops state of the art Software for Set Top Boxes, Interactive Guides and Mobile Devices. We are looking for multiple Engineers who have worked in a traditional software development environment. The contract is a long term assignment with high probability for an extension beyond a year.


  BS / MS degree in CS or equivalent experience
  5+ years of experience in Java based data driven Web application development
  Ability to comprehend detailed project specifications as well as
the ability to adapt to various technologies and frameworks
  Ability to work in a fast paced environment and to either work
individually or lead a small technical team
  Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability
to interact professionally with a diverse group of people
  Excellent organizational skills
  Demonstrated ability to exercise good judgment, prioritize multiple
tasks, and problem solve under pressure of deadlines and resource
constraints
Responsibilities
  Develop robust high-volume production applications
  Work on high profile real world customer facing applications
  Develop services for cutting edge mobile and tablet devices
  Write server side code for web services
Technical
  Several years experience with Java 1.6 server side technology
(Strong OO skills preferred)
  Solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in
data structures, algorithms, and software design.\
  Strong experience with multi-threaded and highly scalable
server-side development
  Understanding of web optimization techniques (server/client side
caching, compression, etc)
  Deep understand of SOA and web service concepts
  Knowledge of Java Server Frameworks (Spring) and Java Persistence
Frameworks (Hibernate)
  Background in Security and Encryption (RSA, MD5, etc)
  Solid understanding of web data formats (xml, json)
  Coding skills in Javascript, SQL, and knowledge of HTTP. TCP/IP and
network programming a plus
