Taking the family for a spin will never be the same again following Ferrari's unveiling of the FF – the Italian marque’s first 4x4 and its fastest four-seater ever.

Along with having the notoriety of being Ferrari's inaugural four-wheel drive car, the FF (an acronym for Ferrari Four) achieves the status of being its fastest courtesy of a startling top speed of 208mph. This superior speed mark is delivered by a hungry 6.2-litre V12 powertrain that also propels the FF from 0 to 62mph in 3.7 seconds.

The car that will eventually succeed the 612 Scaglietti looks part supercar, part estate, part 4x4, making it like no other Ferrari that has come before it. But does that make Ferrari’s first venture into the world of 4x4s an attractive ride? Let’s just say we wouldn’t kick the FF out of our garage for backfiring…
