Hi Friends,

In light of the recent situation......I decided to create a poll to check how many of us really have a good understanding of the rules and regulations. This would help us all.....So please take the poll......

No,  if it is in the line of his study, and he is transfered from another univ where he is Full Time for 9 months continuously.

it is 100% legal for universities to give CPT from Day 1...but the students need to attend the on-campus classes regularly

That depends.
For undergraduates, yes.
For graduate students, CPT from day one is technically possible, but it is very rare to have legitimate CPT from day one.
The organizations who advertise CPT from day one are generally shady and should be avoided, in particular in light of the TVU raid.
A legitimate university will have this only for very limited classes, and would not advertise it nor use it as a lure for foreigners.
The law is 8 CFR 214.2(f)(10)(i).

The bottom line: stay away from an organization that advertises CPT from day one.
