katharnak Posted January 29, 2011 Report Posted January 29, 2011 Tirupati, Jan 29: The Minister for Mines and Geology, Ms Galla Aruna Kumari, has questioned why ministers’ children should not do business.Referring to the allegations that her son was given lease of the Kannedhara mines in Srikakulam district at a media conference here on Saturday, she asked as to why her son should not do business.Asked about the reported attack of the tribals on an officer of the Mines department, she said the matter had not come to her notice. Stating that she has been busy in the 'Rachchabanda' programme, she said that she would look into the matter.When asked about corruption in the Mines department, she said that she would spare none even if an officer indulges in corruption. She also said that she would look into the Kannedhara lease issue.The minister, while admitting that she had not yet got grip over the affairs of the department, she said that she would be able to understand matters soon.
