Chinese conspiracy against Dalai Lama

Eyebrows have been raised at the recovery of around Rs 7 crore in foreign currency and Rs 12 lakh brand new Chinese yuan at Karmapa’s monastery in Dharamsala.

It is being suspected by the investigating agencies that the Chinese Government is promoting Karmapa in a very clandestine manner so that he could come at par with the Dalai Lama.

These questions have been raised by Central agencies like RAW, IB and ED, who are here in Dharamsala to investigate the matter. They have begun working on these lines.

It was Dalai Lama who announced the appointment of the 17th Karmapa, born in 1985 in Tibet, in 1995. It was in 2000 that at the behest of the Dalai Lama, the 17th Karmapa was allowed refuge by the Indian Government at Gayoto Monastery at Sidhbari in Dharamsala.

Controversy persists over his age and how he reached India via the Nepal border, accompanied by four persons and his sister. As per the statements of the Karmapa, when he reached India in 1999, he said he had fled Tibet because the Chinese authorities were putting pressure on him to issue statements against the Dalai Lama and give recognition to Panchen Lama, who is a protege of China.
