Kaka fumes at Sonia: Whither Congress?

It was an unexpected attack on Congress president Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday. Veteran leader and former MP G Venkatswamy, who had hitherto been one of her staunch loyalists, took a sudden U turn and made a scathing attack on her.

Kaka, who was elevated to the post of Congress Working Committee member by Sonia Gandhi, said Sonia did not deserve to be the president of the 125-year old Congress party. “Under her leadership, the party has become degenerated and is facing the collapse. It has lost power in several states and its position has become miserable in states like Bihar and UP, which were once the Congress strongholds. As long as she continues to be the party president, there is no future for the Congress party,” he said.

The veteran leader even went to the extent of questioning her nationality. “[b]She is an Italian and has no concern for India. Only India-born leaders have the right to lead the party. She has to give up the party president post voluntarily or else the media should launch a campaign to remove her,[/b]” he said.

Kaka further said all those party leaders who had won the elections had campaigned on behalf of the party, but not Sonia Gandhi. “Her leadership has led to a lot of corruption in the country and if she is removed from the party, corruption would automatically cease to exist,” he said.

He, however, said he would remain in the party and there was no question of quitting it. “Nobody can take action against me or my family members,” he said.

ha ha...this guy himself is a BIG POLITICAL JOKE.

till recently he was praising Sonia...there is nothing wrong in criticizing her after so many years.

But the POINT he chose to criticize her is really funny. Isnt he aware of her ITALIAN ORIGIN all these years? If that didn't deter his OUTRIGHT DEVOTION to her till a Decade, How come he suddenly realized she was from ITALIAN ORIGIN and is ineligible to be a party president?
