no.of MANUFACTURING uNITS  doesn't necessarily mean...that it lost its NO:1 position.

PROFTS/ No. of sales , class of vehicles sold etc...wiull determine...

Yes, Increasing number of manufacturing units increase doesn't mean that one losing/gaining position. But, that increases number of exports, employment, govt. spending which indirectly effect the GDP growth of one country. That is what one look for.

whoever said all munfactured goods are export quality or being sold internally? WHAT ABOUT THE OVERSTOCK scenario? half of the mwould lie..unsold

Instead of all this, y not put the GDP figure directly?
