2G Spectrum Scam: A Raja, key aides arrested,,,,,,,,,,,, !!

Former Telecom Minister A Raja has been arrested in connection with 2G Spectrum allotment scam on Wednesday.

Former Telecom Secretary Siddartha Behura and former personal secretary R K Chandolia of Raja have also been arrested.
A Raja was questioned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Wednesday morning for the fourth time in New Delhi.
The CBI sources after the questioning had said that the case against Raja is very strong and he would be arrested any moment.
This was the second time in a week when Raja was called by the CBI for questioning in connection with the 2G Spectrum allotment scam.

CBI sleuths on Monday had questioned Raja following the crucial report on 2G Spectrum, which was submitted by the one man committee comprising Justice Shivraj Patil to telecom minister Kapil Sibal.

CBI on Tuesday had also questioned Raja’s brother A Kaliya Perumal. A close aide of Raja was also questioned by the CBI along with his brother.

Meanwhile, Patil in his report had named several officials who did not abide by the government’s rules while issuing Spectrum licenses.

Patil had also named Raja in the report.

Raja was forced to resign on November 14 last year in the wake of the CAG report which held that the spectrum allocation at undervalued prices resulted in a notional loss of Rs 1.76 lakh crore to the state exchequer.

Raja got the telecom portfolio on May 18, 2007 and wasre-elected as a Member of the 15th Lok Sabha and continuedas Telecom Minister from May 31, 2009, till November 14, 2010before he tendered his resignation.

The Supreme Court has asked CBI and EnforcementDirectorate to submit status reports on their investigationsinto the 2G spectrum case to it by February 10 when the casewill come up for further hearing.
