I heard that u will have complications while filing GC. not sure though. on 1040 NR it clearly states that you have to file 1040NR if you have resided less than 5 yrs in US ( u r considered to b a resident for tax purposes after 5 yrs of filing)

ladysfinger Posted February 3, 2011 Author Report Posted February 3, 2011 Ledu baa ee sari Traget IRS ki call chedam ani.. mean while i found this:As a practical matter, if three years have passed and the IRS has not notified you of an error on your Tax return, it is likely that they will never discover the error unless someone notifies them of the error. However, questions about whether you paid taxes and filed the required tax returns are asked when you apply for a Green Card. As part of the process, your tax returns are routinely reviewed to determine if you filed correctly. For this reason, if you determine that you filed incorrectly (for example, you filed as a resident alien filing Form 1040EZ when you should have file as a non-resident alien filing Form 1040NR-EZ), you should go ahead and correct this error, even if additional taxes are due, because you would not want your Green Card Application denied because you failed to file correctly.
try to contact HR block or any reputed firm
ladysfinger Posted February 8, 2011 Author Report Posted February 8, 2011 According to the IRS, It is safe to file 1040 EZ rather than 1040 NR-EZ(Unless u r in US less 31 days or u have less than 183 days income)Yes , AS CheGuevara said 1040 EZ is for residents and we come under that category ( Resident is different form Permanent resident)So, I am sure we can use 1040 EZ file taxes without any hesitation.
