Hello...
              I have 3 tables in data base aventante.......Details table lo student personal details anni untay....SHRD table lo student schooling info untundi.....SBGI table lo thana previous schooll info untundi....
Now the query is: How many studnets in the institution did their prev schooling from NY state only ani......
So wat i did was....aa 3 tables ni jlink chesanu with their primary and foreign keys...
Query result chala varaku bane vachindi kani.....konni pidms(Details table lo primary key) matram repeat avthunnay .....SHRD table lo primary key SBGI_ID .
Nenu formulate chesina query lo two foreign keys untay.....PIDMS from Details tbl and SBGI_ID frm SHRD.....
Prblm entante......naku ila vasthundi output
PIDM    SBGI_ID          AGE    School    School_STATE_CODE
1            23                    ------------------      CO
2            34                    -------------              NY
2            65                ---------------              NY

Same PIDM malli repeat avthundi coz dani SBGI code differnt kada.... but naku only distinct PIDMS matrame kavali...I dnt care abt SBGI_ID

PIDM    SBGI_ID          AGE    School    School_STATE_CODE

Oke PIDM 2 states lonu vasthunnadu.....Ive to formulate Queries for all OTher states n NY....So Ny lo aemo STATE_CODE=NY ani petta....
Alll other states query ki aemo STATE_CODE=<>NY ani pettanu...
So ippudu aa 2 pidm NY query lonu vasthunnadu n MN query lonu vasthunnadu....please help...nenu chala kotha ee field ki.....

i couldn't understand your problem correctly but the first thing that stuck my mind is 2 tables same metadata naa kadaa
if so union all kotti then could you post the answer

if not full outer join chesi results post cheyyi then i can try for some answer

[/quote]details table lo PIDM column containing a primary key...it should maintain uniqness mari a column lo values repeat avthunnai annaru enti naku ardham kaledhu..a table lo values miru sample ga insert chesukunava leka already database lo vunaya?
