Posted February 5, 2011 Report Posted February 5, 2011 I personally think snow reflects the background...sometimes filmmakers use white background to make look actors bright on the screen...here as snow itself is acting as a background...it may contrast sometimes...inorder to make the film colourful rather than looking bright..i think they use blue lighting...i m not an expert in film making but i know photography

When most of the scene is snow you must allow about 1.5 to two stops extra exposure to ensure the snow appears pure white. But even then you may find blue in the shadow areas because snow reflects a lot of UV light that has gives the blue colour. sHa_high5ing sHa_high5ing
