Postal stamp on Savitri release on Feb. 13

Legendry actress, beauty icon and most adorable artiste of South India, Savitri who is referred to as 'Mahanati' is honoured with a postal stamp by Government of India. The Indian postal department has issued new stamps in the honour of few legendry actors and actresses including Nuthan, Meena Kumari, Leela Naidu, Devika Rani and Kannan Devi apart from Savitri.

The stamp on Savitri will be released on February 13th. Earlier, Government had issued stamps in the honour of actresses Nargis and Madhubhala.

Savitri is uncontested in the respect she earns for her intense performances. She is the most favourite actress of biggest celebrities of South India who had a tragic end. Her roles in 'Mayabazar',  Devadasu, Devatha and Mooga Manasulu are classics and reference worthy.
