PSA Peugeot Citroen to re-start operations in Indian market

MUMBAI: French car-maker PSA Peugeot Citroen has decided to launch its mid-sized sedan car in Indian automotive market to mark its re-entry in India. The company has decided to restart its commercial and industrial operations in Indian market after ten long years of its exit.

"India is a key market and this new implantation reflects our ambition to become a global player. As in China, we will offer Indian customers vehicles adapted to their expectations", said, Gregoire Olivier, Executive Vice-President (Asia), PSA Peugeot Citroen.

The company also aims to set up a manufacturing unit in India to distribute its sedan vehicles across the country. The company has announced that Rajesh Nellore will manage company’s manufacturing and distribution operations in the country from Mumbai. PSA Peugeot Citroen had earlier established a joint venture Peugeot PAL India with Premier family in 2001. The company has decided to restart its operations in India to generate more revenues from global markets.
