Governor May Recommend President Rule? ????????????????????????????

The worsening political situation in the state and the indecisiveness of the Congress high command on the Telangana issue has led to the speculations in the political circles that the Centre might be forced to impose President’s Rule in the state.

In fact, Governor E S L Narasimhan was learnt to be waiting for such an opportunity, as chief minister N Kiram Kumar Reddy has been proved totally ineffective in dealing with the situation arising out of former Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy’s brazen revolt, the defiance of several Congress MLAs, key issues like fee reimbursement scheme and above all, the Telangana issue. Though the plan was to impose the President’s Rule if the Telangana agitation takes a violent turn, it did not happen as the movement so far remained peaceful and subdued.

But now, it looks like the situation is spinning out of hands. The developments in the assembly made the Governor so much angry that at one stage, there were speculations that he might immediately recommend the President’s Rule. However, he calmed down a bit after the Chief Minister and other party leaders went to Raj Bhavan and tendered apology over the incidents. However, if the politicial uncertainty continues to prevail during the budget session and if there is any disruption to the presentation of the budget, Narasimhan might immediately suspend the assembly any time, political observers say.
