After recovering from the trauma, Ms Anuradha completed her studies and began work as a biotechnologist in the ANGRAU.Soon after the attack, the TD government had awarded her a nominal compensation. But her parents approached the AP HC for an enhanced compensation; the court directed the government to bear the medical expenses of Ms Anuradha.The TD government challenged the High Court order in the Supreme Court, which turned down the government’s plea and instructed that the state should bear all the expenses of the treatment.The state has asked the University to make the payment, which will be reimbursed from the CM’s Relief Fund. Ms Anuradha can get the treatment of her choice wherever it is available. Ms Anuradha said that her attacker, Srinivasa Reddy, had threatened her with dire consequences after he was released on bail and added that the TD government had been of little help to her.
