[Nellore Pedda reddy]

VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra University College of Engineering (autonomous) received the award of all-India Best Government Engineering College, instituted by the Star News.

The award was received by Principal G.S.N. Raju at a function held in Mumbai on Feb. 12, Vice-Chancellor B. Satyanarayana said at a press conference here on Tuesday. He congratulated Prof. Raju, the faculty, scholars, students and staff of AUCE on receiving the prestigious award.

“This is for the first time that a campus college received an all-India best college award. It's a great honour and privilege”, said Prof. Raju. The award was decided by a selection committee headed by the Chairman of NASSCOM. The college has a strength of 3,590 students and is offering B.Tech course in 15 branches and PG programmes in 42 branches, making it one of the biggest engineering colleges in the country. It is recognised as one of the seven engineering institutions by the Centre to be supported with special funds.
