Bhargav2010 Posted February 21, 2011 Report Posted February 21, 2011 Dr N Jayaprakash Narayan, a hardcore integrationist and a hate figure for Telangana zealots, appears to have softened his opposition to the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.Dr Narayan, who was attacked by Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) activists at the media point in Assembly premises on February 17, made an appearance at the same spot on Monday but his tone and tenor was rather different this time.Refraining from making any snide remarks against Telangana protagonists, the Lok Satta Party President appeared a mellowed man from his earlier self. In fact, he advocated a debate in the Assembly on the demand for a separate state and admitted that it was a “burning issue engaging the attention of millions of people.”“It is not good for the government to sit over Telangana issue any longer. I will soon give a notice to the Deputy Speaker for a discussion on Telangana,” the civil servant turned politician said.Attacking the Congress government for remaining silent on Telangana issue and misleading the people, he said that a thorough discussion should be held on the basis of facts and field realities. He called upon all parties including the Congress and TDP to take up the issue for discussion with courage and sincerity.Describing physical assault on him on the Assembly premises recently as a trivial one, Dr Narayan said that the Telangana issue was very serious issue which should be tackled on top priority finding a lasting solution. He also made it clear that he would make all-out efforts to initiate a discussion on Telangana in the Assembly. sHa_clap4 sHa_clap4 sHa_clap4 sHa_clap4 sHa_clap4 sHa_clap4 sHa_clap4 sHa_clap4
