Madhuri, who was preferred for the role of Rajinikanth’s sister, turned down the role as she felt it was unsuited for her. Now director K.S. Ravikumar has approached Rekha to take up the role. Rekha and Rajni have appeared together in many Hindi movies and this project would be a comeback for this 80′s star. Rana, a trilingual movie, will be released in Tamil, Telugu and Hindi, like Rajinikanth’s earlier blockbuster Enthiran (Robot). Deepika Padukone will appear opposite Rajinikanth in this period movie.
