YARLAGADDA:
This is a historical place where the Challapalli Zamindars used to rule. So the Zamindars' [size=18pt]surname [/size]which is Yarlagadda became the name of the village. People belonging to the Yarlagadda clan are the legal heirs of the Challapalli Zamindars. After independence Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru abolished the Zamindari system ,and hence the Yarlagadda clan had to give up their (Land Sealing Act). The Yarlagadda fort (Challapalli) in Challapalli nearer to this village is one of the main forts in Krishna district.
Agriculture is the main profession for the people who are staying in this village.Indian flag creator Pingali Venkayya garu stayed in this village.Nagamalleswara Swamy temple is famous here.Maha Shivaratri is clebrated here in a grand manner which attracts people from nieghbouring towns and villages.
