'PRP to contest 110 seats, may win 20'

The Praja Rajyam Party headed by film hero Chiranjeevi will contest 110 seats in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections, according to party’s campaign committee leader and former MP Ch Harirama Jogaiah.

But surprisingly, Jogaiah is not confident of how many seats the PRP will win in the elections. He gave different figures on the chances of winning. According to him, the party would field our candidates in 110 divisions. In at least 40 divisions, they would give tough fight to the opponents; which means, Jogaiah is not certain about victory even in 40 seats, but is saying it will give tough fight. “Even if we win at least 20 seats, we will play a crucial role in the GHMC,” he said.

So, the PRP is estimating that it would win at least 20 seats, but it is not confident of capturing the GHMC. Jogaiah says in view of the multi-cornered contests, no party would get absolute majority in the GHMC polls. “I don’t think any party would get more than 50 seats in the polls,” he says. That is the poll management of Chiranjeevi!
