'Alliance with PRP is high command’s decision'

Pradesh Congress Committee president D Srinivas is making a desperate bid to defend his decision to have an alliance with the Praja Rajyam Party in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation elections.

“It is not my decision. It is the wish of the Congress high command to forge an alliance with the PRP in the long-term interests of the party. The alliance will continue till 2014. If anybody in the Congress has any reservations about this alliance, I suggest that they represent the matter to the high command. There is no point in blaming me,” Srinivas said.

The PCC president said the recommendations of the Congress MLAs from Greater Hyderabad would be taken into consideration while finalising the list of candidates for the GHMC polls. The first list will be declared by November 4th, he said.
