A 200-years-old British fortification building was turned into a posh apartment. The property is located in the county of Suffolk. Owner of the dugout, Duncan Jackson, designed this house with architectural firm Piercy Conner. Initially the project of reconstruction  included consulting the advocates of historic sites. A round glass superstructure with a metal roof has been erected on top of the shelter, so that sunlight could come into the building (originally there was only a small window). The house now has several bedrooms, a living room and a kitchen. The wall thickness is exceeding 3.6 meters and was built in the early 1800s.
