CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu police have recommended deployment of the Indian Army's anti-aircraft arms at strategic places ahead of the India-West Indies match on Sunday, following intelligence warnings of threats to the World Cup venue.

The state police also asked the coast guard to step up surveillance off the Chennai coast.

The coast guard will deploy two of its vessels to monitor movements and more than 2,000 police personnel will maintain vigil in and around the stadium.
