psycopk Posted March 4, 2009 Report Posted March 4, 2009 Named after ace producer Rama Naidu, Rana his grandson is debuting to filmdom in a film directed by Shekhar Kammula. Blinding the eyes of media, the film went to the floors and is in shooting since awhile which has now been moved to the locales of Hyderabad. Sprinkled with a dash of action, this Rana’s debut film is a political drama that has two lead ladies, one from Mumbai and the other, a Telugu girl. Appositely, very few people knew that Rana is a trained actor and alumni of the film institute before he forayed into cinema. For learning the nuances of filmmaking, he assisted in designing the special effects of the Venkatesh starrer ‘Lakshmi’ and co-produced the National Award winner ‘Bommalata’ with K. Prakash Rao. Shekhar Kammula is famously known as a debutant specialist for his films ‘Dollar Dreams’, ‘Anand’, ‘Godavari’ and ‘Happy Days’, all featuring an altogether new cast provided a solid platform. Let’s hope Rana gets lucky with the good luck charm of the filmmaker.
