The inauguration of this world cup will take place in Dhaka on February 17th, 2011. The first match will be held at Dhaka on February 19th. ICC committee had met in Mumbai yesterday to decide about the matches, groups and dates for the World Cup. 14 countries are participating in this grand event. The world cup will be go on for 43 days and the final will be held at the Wankhande Stadium in Mumabi on April 2nd. India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are jointly organizing this world cup. Earlier, Pakistan also was to host a handful of games from this world cup; however its status was stripped off following continuous terrorist attacks in the country. Pakistan will play all its league matches in Sri Lanka. India is placed in Group-B, which also has South Africa, England, West Indies, Bangladesh, Ireland and Netherlands.
