Kadapa MP Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Wednesday declared that he would become chief minister of Andhra Pradesh one day, if not now.

“I may not become CM tomorrow or this year or two years later. But it is definite that I will become the chief minister one day. Nobody can stop me from getting onto the CM’s chair,” Jaganmohan Reddy asserted, while participating in the Abhaya Hastam programme in Kadapa.

It is for the first time that Jagan has expressed his desire to become the chief minister so boldly and openly. By saying that nobody could stop him from becoming the CM, Jagan has sent a clear signal to his followers that certain forces had stonewalled his chances recently.

The statement is also believed to a clear message to the Congress high command that it has no other option but to consider his name in the coming days, if not now. It also gives a veiled threat to the high command that he would go to any extent to fulfil his desire. It remains to be seen how the high command would take his latest statement.
