Every one has to chant YSR’s name

Hyderabad, Apr 12: Chaos prevailed after the then Chief Minister Dr. Y S Rajasekhara  Reddy died in the unfortunate helicopter crash. Jagan wouldn’t have launched a new party if YSR was to be alive. There wouldn’t have been by-elections in Kadapa. The peculiar feature in the ensuing by-elections is that both the Congress parties are using YSR’s name and his photograph for their victory.

Jagan’s party YSR Congress and YSR’s original party - Congress - are both chanting his name and asking for votes in the name of  the schemes he has introduced. Such was the strength of his name and his schemes.

The most stunning fact in these election is that YSR’s younger brother Vivekananda Reddy who always called himself Lakshmana is now fighting with Sitamma -  YSR’s wife Vijayamma. Wherever he is now, YSR wouldn’t have expected this family feud. It may be recalled that at one time, Viveka wanted to relinquish his Parliament membership in favor of Jagan. Viveka was philosophical at that time and wanted to leave politics altogether. Such a person suddenly developed interest in a cabinet post and the grace of Congress Goddess Sonia Gandhi. His hunger for power grew to such extent that he did not mind bringing a rift in his own family and fighting Sitamma in the political war.

May be YSR is now happy that both the parties are chanting his name. Or may be he is sad that his son has revolted against his party and the person whom he treated as Goddess (Sonia Gandhi)! Or was he unhappy that the party he has served all his life hadn’t offered future to his son? May be he was in a chaos, unable to digest the stands of both sides and chose to remain quite.
