I gave some solutions to particular problem. But few other members raised few issues on those. I tried to prove but they are failed since I was not much into that technology it failed. What I learned is, before proposing , I need to verify it completely then bring it to desk or else do not propose what you are not sure.

Explain the requirement and sources u have(dead lines, budget, team, etc)
Explain the different options you had
I think its better not to say it failed, u need to be on positive so u can explain like you dint get the expected outcome
What did u learn, the things u were lagged in  sCo_^Y sCo_^Y

bhayya if I was there I would go this way

" i strongly believe in the saying that if we never failed we never lived, I take all my set backs as my stepping stones and really make them count worthy.....For example I was working in a XXX company where I had to deal with the COTS (Commercial of the shelf packages) to enhance my application security ...We had a very clear scope and Due to the Budget changes and the economic crisis we ran into a situation where we had to cut short few of the functionality...but personally i was not very satisfied since I felt security for such an sensitive application was much more important than any other...I tried to explain various scenarios where we would run into and where the functionality really pays a ton....But after all still going through the right channel of authorities (PM, LEAD) the steering committee was not ready to buy in all the functionality....then I acted as a liaison between the COTS vendor and the Internal IT team to design a gap analysis and recommend what is a must and what is nice to have.....my steering committee did not throw it off but still have all my recommendation up there sleeve...with what currently I am dealing with now...So, even though I was disappointed at the very beginning ...I convinced them from a technical perspective"...

what i learnt was: always hardwork with a gr8 positive attitude and the right direction with a blend of technology and deep understanding of the systems ...really pays ....(even if it is late but it will surely pay off)
