I will trow one point here , joins use chesinapudu always use EXISTS rather than using IN , fast ga untadi coz IN checks each row but EXISTS works in set operation.

default and the frequently used join is inner join...
so if i  say
select productid from table1 a
join table2 b
on a.productid =b.productid

each row of productid column from table1 is compared to table2
and retrieves only the matched results
