The entire drama over the arrest of Telangana Rashtra Samthi president K Chandrasekhara Rao is gradually unfolding now.

This correspondent, who had been watching the developments in Karimnagar since Saturday, could clearly make out that everything went on perfectly according to the plan of the TRS president. KCR was told well in advance by the police that he would be arrested as soon as he leaves the North Telangana Bhavan in Karimnagar town. That was the reason why he was very composed and cool, without having any tension on his face as he was speaking to the national and local media in the morning. He told media persons clearly that even if he was arrested, he would not stop his “deeksha” and continue it wherever he was imprisoned.

KCR also reportedly told his nephew T Harish Rao to launch a token protest fast at Siddipet as there was a huge gathering of people at the venue where he was supposed to launch fast unto death and if it fizzles out without any protest, it would create suspicion. And as he left the Karimnagar town and reached Alaganoor village, where the road splits into two routes – one towards Siddipet and another towards Warangal, the Grey Hounds police surrounded his vehicle and after a token protest, he got into the police vehicle and was taken towards Khammam. KCR’s son K T Rama Rao, too, tried to put up a false aggressive posture and was finally arrested. And at Siddipet, Harish Rao did the same and was taken into custody within minutes of launching the fast.

The way KCR’s daughter Kavitha was watching all the tamasha by participating in a television debate without any anxiety on her face itself shows that everybody in the KCR’s family knows everything as to what would happen. Perhaps they had an understanding with the police and also with the government. But the people have become fools once again!
