Well, the expected has happened but that does not stop us from figuring out why it happened. We are talking about the recent GHMC polls and the common prediction that Praja Rajyam Party, headed by megastar Chiranjeevi was not going to create any impact. True to the thoughts, Chiru could save face with just one win. Here are a few pointers as to why Chiru could not ‘Rough up’ the ballet boxes.

The time spent on announcing his political debut took many years which was a delay.

After the party was announced, forming an agenda took some more time and some still maintain that there is no concrete agenda or vision for the party which is a major drawback.

No convincing assurances or political aggression from Chiru or his team during the canvassing.

The party has not been able to catch the pulse of the common man and get into some real action for the cause of the society.

The controversies surrounding the ticket selling and other issues even before the party bloomed was a major blow.

Lack of conviction in appealing to the masses that the party is here to serve the public and make their lives better.

Confusion regarding ‘Maarpu’ concept and also ‘Samajika Nyayam’. Till today, no one understood the definition or an explanation from the PRP folks.

Passive reactions towards concerns and issues related to corruption. As an opposition party, Chiru was expected to come down heavily on the system but that never happened.

The constant issues of leaders walking out of the party and that too not having smooth exits created a black mark on the party image.

No proper political ideology and a systematic approach towards streamlining the existing system.

To add to the pointers, here is the finishing touch. The main man behind Chiranjeevi is Allu Aravind. This crafty film maker is known for his shrewd approach when it comes to making a film. It is said that Aravind and co used to squeeze the juices out of the cinema writers before approving the story and the same used to happen for finalizing the cast as well. Huge efforts used to be applied for getting theatres and finally showing accounts to be safe. But many are asking as to why such an approach was not applied for PRP. The common feeling is that Aravind overestimated the cine appeal of Chiru and thought that it would be like the film ‘Tagore’ where people will blindly jump into the well for Chiru. Well, real life and reel life are two different things. This is something the entire unit must have realized by now.
