Boss!!! Stay cool .....In columns tab try changing the column delimiter......Make sure you are in the ragged right mode..but i don't think you are in
Ragged right mode because the column delimiter should be disabled in ragged right mode... but i see it is enabled in your case.

Yes, simply typing the space as column delimiter should work. Make sure, though, that all columns are separated with a single space. Multiple spaces would generate multiple columns.

1. Take one Dataflow Task Control from ToolBox.

  2. Inside Dataflow Task take FlatFile Source control and select your file as input file.

  3. Then use the REPLACE() function inside a Derived Column after FlatFile Source component to replace spaces with nothing.
Use this expression inside expression builder of Derived Column. DataType should be String(DT_STR) and length 255.

  REPLACE([column_name], " ", "")

do this if you have columns with more than one space.

i tried ragged right and looked like everything fell in place and everything was fine. i went into columns tab and created 282 colums each one for the 282 exixiting columsn in the exisiting table!! but then when i was drawing the lines or in this case arraning the columns i was dumbstruck when i had to draw a column in between the data thats when i came to know something is stil going wrong.

Yeah you did it right but what i feel is if the file was loaded in Fixed width format then while reading in ragged right format then it should arrange itself. In your case it is not so the file may be corrupt.Try using word Pad/Text pad to open the file and visually confirm before escalating the issue.

adhey chary garu mee file delimiter space aa file anthey vuntundhi.. 2005 import tool lo delimiter space ledhu antunnaru kabatti.... so meeru nenu cheppinattu proceed ayipondi..
1. Take one Dataflow Task Control from ToolBox.

  2. Inside Dataflow Task take FlatFile Source control and select your file as input file. use FlatFile Destination as  'Fixed width with row delimiters' instead of 'Fixed width' option.

  3. Then use the REPLACE() function inside a Derived Column after FlatFile Source component to replace spaces with colon.
Use this expression inside expression builder of Derived Column. DataType should be String(DT_STR) and length 255.

  REPLACE([column_name], " ", "")

adhi chesthey u will get a new text file with delimiter colon.. so now you can easily import using import/export wizard..
