galaxy Posted December 12, 2009 Report Posted December 12, 2009 bitterkai.... the idea that sambar chidambaram is trying to split andhra is wrong notion propagated by few local leaders, the truth is quite the contrary, splitting andhra is in fact bad for him, here is why it is so ..... 1. Congress party prefers small states, it works in their favor to stay in power in parliament. Even with continuous love/hate cycles going on in all states in the country at every election, congress can secure 40% of MP seats without difficulty, then it's easy for them to take support from few regional paries in small states. In that sense Congress would prefer to split any big state, including TN, and Karnataka.... this has nothing to do with sambar chidambaram 2. Lets take chidambaram's own state, when was the last time congress won assembly elections there? when was the last time congress won majority MP states there? Not in recent elections, there is no hope it will win in future. Chidambaram has his minister seat because of AP, if he really wants to split he would love to split TN, but not AP 3. Same logic goes to Moily as well, with weak congress in Karnataka. If at all chidambaram and moily conspire they would do it to split their own states but not AP, andhra has been golden goose for them, they must be really sad about what is going on in AP
