first point....just bcoz we are born in tht country....its great ani feel avvadam correct antavaa    sCo_^Y sCo_^Y sCo_^Y

so caste feeling, regional feeling and patriotism are more or less tha same antav....anthenaa  sCo_^Y sCo_^Y sCo_^Y
[/quote]

yes............  in both cases

1) there positives and negitives  in all countries.. a true patroit recognizes his strengths of the country to over come the weaknesses of his country
He doesnt sit back and say.... is desh ka kuch nahi hoyegaa..... or ..........is se kunch nahi hoyegaaa

2) yes in a sense of belonging, they are all the same.........even though we have numerous languages.. religions... regions.. castes... dialects.......... even though we fight among our self for our identity.... we come together for the greater good when there is an aggression on our country

every thing has priority and a hierarchy .... if some one asks u" whom do you like the most... your father or your mother"  u cant ans... atleast most people cant

but if some one asks you " whom do you like the most... your parents or you in-laws" you would say your parents............. atleast most of them would

the same thing applies for feeling for belonging....... how much importance your giving to each one

Patriotism is a 'cultivated' feeling like any other feeling. One is interested in his/her own survival. If somebody tries to steal my living, I will confront it purely to protect my survival as per my strength. No name can be given to this instinct. Feeling of patriotism is unreal as the underlying intention is just  'one's survival'. Therefore the question of whether it is necessary or not is invalid.

And one doing any good to the society is unreal. One is doing good to oneself. Always.

the one doing good to hime self belong to the society,,,, by doing good to himself ..he is doing good to the society

1) Can i replace "country" with "state" or "the country which we live" or "our society"?

2) So why is "Patriotism" on the top of your hierarchy ? why not Caste feeling or regional feeling?

1) yes............ state and society are  smaller parts of the country............. depending on how you define society

2) Its the importance you give to it........... patriotism is on the top because of the greater good that happens to people then regional/caste feeling

1) yh if you are born in that country..........yes
2)  society is nothing but individuals.......... a society is just a plural sense of these individuals..... it can be big  or small
it is a belief that  supporting the country on a whole will fetch an individual more good than supporting his region

1) why do u have to say "born in that country" always? why not....."living in that country"?

2)so the society might be american or indian....Is it the same?

In a broader sense.....if you consider yourself as a citizen of a continent....or a global citizen......and support/fight for a cause rationally.....Don't you think thts even better?

1) do you give same importance to the person who has give birth to you and the person who has nursed you
the same way if i ask you ..weather you give preference to the one who gave you life or the one who brought you up ... that would be a wrong question

2) what  you said is true when there is an imminent danger to the continent or to the world by an alienation or some thing else .... I would bet you would think  as citizen of the world
