Congress President Sonia Gandhi is expected to make a statement on the contentious Telangana issue by Thursday.

According to reports from New Delhi, she would formulate the party line this week on the situation arising out of the decision on separate Telangana statehood.

Sonia, who is also the Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party (CPP), will be addressing its general body meeting which is tentatively fixed for Thursday, where she will make a statement on the Telangana issue.

So far, Sonia has not revealed her mind over Telangana issue after the controversy broke out and the party in Andhra Pradesh is divided between Telangana and non-Telangana regions.
