Don't Agree With Narayana Murthy's Iit Remarks: Kapil Sibal

NEEMRANA (RAJASTHAN): HRD minister[url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Kapil-Sibal"]Kapil Sibal[/url] on Friday refused to subscribe to Infosys chief NR Narayana Murthy's view about slump in the quality of education in IITs and pitched for creating more such institutes in the country.

"We are capable of producing world class institutions like IITs and IIMs and we need to have more of these institutions to reach almost every student capable and aspiring to get into these institutes," Sibal told a gathering at [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/NIIT-University"]NIIT University[/url] here.

"I don't believe or adhere to what [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/Narayana-Murthy"]Narayana Murthy[/url] has said," he told an event to mark the 10 million milestone for [url="http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/topic/School-Learning-Division"]School Learning Division[/url] (SLD) of NIIT.

Murthy had recently voiced his displeasure over the quality of engineers that pass out of the IITs and said there is a need to overhaul the selection criteria for students seeking admission to the prestigious technology institutes.

Sibal said the ministry is in the process of setting up 'National Vocational Educational Qualificational framework' possibly by next year, so that students can take up courses according to their interests.

He also said that 26 new institutions are being set up across Mumbai where graphics related courses will be taught.

To a query on the quota issue, he said, "Quotas are not for creating barriers in the society, but to bridge the same. We have to rationalise our society."

He is not just Running a Body Shop now.. he is talking about his impression on how his Old school used to be and how things changed in the current day scenario...

iam not questioning his eligibility.....why doesn't his infosys come up and partner with iit into some research related programs......and its much more tougher to clear jee and enter iit compared to the days when he studied......[img]http://i45.tinypic.com/dh7gv5.gif[/img]

we may not be maintaining World class institutions..
Among all the computer related Technical jobs atleast 1/10th of the total are handled by Indians.. .For that part we don;t really need World Class institute in our country..


But The world need the Indian class of highly talented Technical Labour to work on its computers... even though they were not from that top 100 universities..

PMR Bhayya...i know matter is irrelavant ..he is the best enterpuenur i wud say but the one i mentioned is what he spoke few days back reg iit students standards.....thats bit offensive when u degrade the credibilty of your college after u stepout....i wudn't do it....
